The purpose of WestFair Rides is to help meet the transportation needs of older adults and vision-impaired adults of Westchester County, NY and western Fairfield County, CT by creating a network of sustainable, community-based, volunteer transportation services. Our goal is to promote lifelong safety, independence and mobility through mutually supportive, collaborative relationships with aging in place organizations, town recreation, public transportation, private livery, ParaTansit and other transportation providers and services in our region.

In January 2013 the program began providing rides to older adults in the Sound Shore area of Westchester County.  In October 2013 WestFair Rides began service in Northeast Westchester.  Over time, the program will grow to include the entire county of Westchester and adjoining towns in Fairfield County, and will gradually include adults with MS and other physical disablities.

Also in October 2013, WestFair Rides renewed efforts to increase access to personal care and home health aide services to homecare patients in Westchester by recruiting homecare providers to share van service from the Bronx directly to patient homes in Bedford, Lewisboro, North Salem and Pound Ridge where there is no public transportation.  For more information about strategies and planning, click here.

WestFair Rides is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, incorporated in New York State.
